Tyrbane walks towards the group, who is sitting
around a campfire. He takes a seat and brushes off the dust from his
cloak, causing the flames to rise to engulf the particles. He looks
at the members one-by-one, noticing they are all tired from the
training earlier. On the fire lays a large piece of charred meat.
Tyrbane takes the meat off the fire and places it on a tree stump.
He then unsheaths his sword and cuts up the meat, handing a piece to
each member around the fire. He places his sword for a moment in the
fire to cleanse it and then re-sheaths it. "I have seen many
events over the years...some good and some that turns my stomach to
think about. One of the latter occured about two years ago. It was a
day that seemed like any day, a beautiful one, filled with the sound
of children's laughter and birds singing their sweet songs. But this
day was not like any day. No, it was far from it. It was to be the
happiest day of my life but became quite horrible. When I was
returning to my small cottage, like usual, I was greeted by the
royal guards of Quel'thalas. One might think it a bit odd for a mere
traveller to be treated so kindly by royal guards. One must do
something extrodinary for such a thing. The princess of that land
and I were in love. The king and queen at first thought badly of me,
but soon realised that I was the man who would one day marry
her..." A tear came to Tyrbane's eye and he quickly wiped it
away. "Anyways, like I was saying, I was greeted by the royal
guards who protect the princess. Seeing as how they were near my
cottage, I assumed she must have stopped by for a visit. Those
guards tag along everywhere she goes. When I opened the door, I saw
something I would never forget. My father and my love, Gwinnyn,
together. My father was a wicked man and a powerful wizard. I do not
know what happened then, but the outcome was horrifying! Suddenly, I
was enraged at the discovering and at that moment, room exploded
before my eyes. The royal guards quickly came and noticed I was the
only one moving. They picked me up off the ground, huddled over my
dear Gwinnyn and they then carried me off to prison." Tyrbane
then turned and looked over his shoulder, as if looking for someone.
He then quickly returned his gaze to the fire. "I brought you all
here tonight to tell you of my journey. I will be travelling back to
that fated place, back to Quel'thalas. I must find out what really
happend that day. I have heard of a powerful time mage that now
lives there, who can help one to see his past. The person must be
willing to find out the truth of what happend in some event in their
life, or else it does not work. A friend of mine that still lives
there as well told me of this. I wish to meet this man and see if he
can help me. I also wish for some of you to journey with me. The way
will be difficult. Only three can come with me because it is too
dangerous for more than that. I also wish to retrieve my belongings
I had stashed in a nearby cave. I know they are still there because
I sealed a summon beast in it. The only problem is the beast must be
defeated to retrieve my things. Most notably, I have a large stash
of gold and many weapons. That is also why I need help, to defeat
the summon. Only the strong may come and those who wish to
understand something of their past. If you are brave, then come with
me and let us make this clan even stronger! I will return in the
morning to see who here is willing to go. Those of you who wish to
go need the sleep anyways." Tyrbane then got up and left the
area. The fire slowly died out as the clan members sat their
thinking about what was said.

and passive, but yet shows sorrow beyond years of understanding...
and his body, though lean, is muscular, and battle hardened from
years of traveling and experience.... "I will gladly join you on
your Quest Tyrbane... for I know your sorrow, or similar to it...
and my years of travel and experience will hopefully be enough to
keep me going. I need to get out and test my skills in the world
again, my blade grows weary of not being used, and my magic is
getting old, I need to fresen it up... my blade is at your service,
along with my life" responded Teclis, with a look of determination
on his face... and with that, he reaches behind his back, and draws
his great rune encrusted blade, and stabs it skyward... "Who else is
willing to embark on this mission of danger and mystery, who will
also join us in Tyrbane's Quest??"

A young man, 18 years of age, sat at the
opposite end of the roaring fire, gnawing on a peice of rough meat.
Although very young, his face was already weathered from battle,
with a large scar on his right cheek, his long, bluish colored hair
waving behind him in the cold wind as he slowly crept towards the
fire to obtain more warmth. He carried two katanas, strapped to the
back of his blue armor, but they were now at his side because of the
long, brown cloak on his back. "I will join you on this quest
Tyrbane. My name is Rowin. I used to live in Quel'thalis with my
parents and my little brother. We were a poor family, always being
ridiculed by the aristocratic nobles who had their money and were
well educated. I went to school for a few years but then I was home
schooled due to the fact that I was made fun of at school numerous
times by the wealthy children. My mother wasn't very educated but
she tried her hardest to teach me. Anyway, back to what I was
saying. One day, I traveled to the neighboring village of Ingrin to
buy some wheat for my mother. When I returned to the village and got
to the town walls I looked up into the blue sky, puting my hand over
my eyes because of the suns glare, and saw large balls of smoke
rising into the air. I ran to the locationwher the smoke was coming
from and my jaw dropped in disbelief when I saw my house being
engulfed in flames. I ran in the front entrance and my brother was
caught under a fallen beam. I got him out and told him to run. I
tried to go further in the house but the flames were to large and
hot. I then heard the ceiling crack and I ran for the door and
escaped as the house collapsed behind me. My fathers friend told me
that he say my brother run out of the town and that he thinks that
the fire was caused by a group of nobles because my father tried to
get one of them arrested for taking his meat that he had bought. I
left the town right after the funeral and searched for my brother, I
haven't been back yet, and I haven't found my brother either. But I
must go back and find out what truly happened to my parents that
night. That is why I would love to join you."

A cloaked figure aproached the Tantalus members,
who were all asleep except two, Teclis and Rowin. The figure then
removed the cloak and tossed it on the ground in a heap.
"I really hate wearing that ridiculous cloak," wispers Tyrbane to
the two. "But I must keep the locals from knowing who I am. Over
here, so we do not wake up the rest."
Tyrbane points towards a large tree and the three head over to
it.
Tyrbane continues in a normal voice, "For some odd reason when I
originally went into town to buy some items, all the townsfolk came
out of their shops and houses and bowed down before me. It was quite
strange to say the least. They would not say a thing when I asked
them why they were bowed down. I think they had mistaken me for
someone else. If you need anything from town you should go and get
it, especially foodstuffs. No sense in dying from starvation before
we even get there... If you have a horse, or some other
animal/creature similar, bring it along, it will take less time to
arrive at our destination. I will wait here and sharpen my daggers."
Tyrbane pulled out a small dagger from his boot. He then removed
a dagger from his other boot, his back pocket, and underneath his
tunic.
"My friend once broke his sword, pulled out a dagger, which was
knocked away, pulled out another which was also knocked away and
then pulled out a third, quickly killing the assasin trying to
murder him. He then said 'One can never have too many back up
weapons'. I doubt I will ever need them, but you never know what
will happen. Plus, they make great carving knives when your friends
forget theirs."
Tyrbane then began to sharpen his excessive amount of daggers.

"You know what is bad about these little
daggers?" Tyrbane asked the two.
Tyrbane stands up and faces the large tree. He places two of the
daggers in each hand and throws them quickly into the forest.
Several moans of pain could be heard from the shrubbery surrounding
the tree. Four men tumbled out of the bushes and collapsed at the
feet of Tyrbane. They were wearing assassin clothing and carried
switchblades, that were open in their hands. All four of the men
moaned again and died.
Tyrbane answers, "They only last one time!"
Tyrbane picked up the bodies and tossed them into the forest.
Just then a man arrives, with the insignia of Tantalus on his tunic.
"My lords! Sir! I have pressing news! I have just heard that Che
has left again! He has abandoned us for that ninja group!" the man
said in a very disdane way.
"Dear God! What on earth could possess him to do such a thing?"
Tyrbane quickly asked.
The man replied, "I dont know sir, but he was in quite a hurry,
we barely even had a chance to say goodbye! We even had to change
our marching song!"
"I beg your pardon? You changed the marching song? What does that
have to do with anything?"
The man quickly ran off before he could answer, to rejoin the
rest of the members. They were all marching off to Tantalus
Headquarters in the south. Their marching song was the famous
marching song of Tantalus, which was modified due to the loss of a
leader, sounded like this:
Lead: Sound off. Members: ONE! TWO! Lead: Sound
off! Members: THREE! FOUR! Lead: Sound off. Members: ONE!
TWO! THREE! FOUR! One two... THREE FOUR!
Lead: Tyrbane's our
leader and fighter. Members: He was on a diet and now's much
lighter! Lead: Teclis's our leader and teaches
battle. Members: Now his ass is in the saddle!
Lead: Sound
off. Members: ONE! TWO! Lead: Sound off! Members: THREE!
FOUR! Lead: Sound off. Members: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! One
two... THREE FOUR!
Lead: Tyrbane hates swords made of
brass. Member: If we use them he'll kick our ass! Lead: Teclis
is elven and knows some lore. Member: We always ask him for some
more!
Lead: Sound off. Members: ONE! TWO! Lead: Sound
off! Members: THREE! FOUR! Lead: Sound off. Members: ONE!
TWO! THREE! FOUR! One two... THREE FOUR!
"What the hell! They totally changed around the song! What is
that remark about a diet? What saddle are they talking about? Hmph."
Tyrbane walked back to the tree, picked up his sword and began
walking towards the north.
"I think its about time to leave."

The group sets off on their journey to that
fateful forest city in the north. After many days of travel, they
come upon a large cliff-face, which extends quite a distance upward
at a steep angle. There are two thick cables stretched out high
above which reach up to the top of the cliff. There is no possible
way for them to reach the top without climbing.
"This is quite peculiar," said Tyrbane to the others, staring at
the cliff, "The last time I was in this area, there was no cliff
here. There was also not these strange cables high above us. I
suppose we should climb to the top, to investigate where it is that
we are. It is unfortunate that we cannot just use those two cables,
but they seem to be unsecure and too high up to possibly reach."
Tyrbane took off his pack, which he carried with him to keep his
belongings. He opened it and took out a large amount of rope, metal
spikes, and a small pickaxe.
"It is a good thing I brought along these. I was not sure what we
might need. I did not think we would be climbing a cliff, but we do
not have much of a choice. I will climb up part way and secure the
rope to the cliff-face. We will have to go up in sections, to make
it easier."
Tyrbane began to climb the wall of rock. About a third of the way
up, he secured the rope to the rock with one of the spikes. He then
called for the others to climb up to where he was. They could barely
hear him because it was quite a distance between them.

Tyrbane noticed the leaving warrior and then
wondered to himself, 'Quite strange how so many claim to have
visited the Elven city of Quel'thalas. Things must have changed
since I was there... This is beginning to be a strange journey.'
He then fell back into a deep sleep.
In the morning, Tyrbane awoke with a startle. Before his eyes was
something he remembered from his past, something he had almost
forgotten about.
"My god! How on earth did THAT get here?!? I knew this area
seemed strangely familiar and out of place but THIS? This city
doesnt even belong on this planet! It belongs on a planet far from
here. The question is 'how'. "
Tyrbane stared in wonder at the majestic city in front of him. It
was a beautiful city with a large castle in the middle, surrounded
by a body of water. The castle was a beautiful white and had a large
sword on it pointing downward. The castle was none other than the
wondrous Alexander, the legendary summon of holiness. Tyrbane
quickly woke the others and pointed at the city.
"This is the city of Alexandria! It is a city on a far away
planet I once accidentally stumbled onto. I had found a strange
looking mirror one day and found that I could walk through it. When
I did, I came upon this same city! It was not in the same condition
it is right now though. The city had recently been ravaged by
Bahamut, who was brainwashed at the time. I met the lovely queen of
the city and her boyfriend. Her boyfriend was quite an odd fellow.
He actually had a tail! Anyways, after visiting the townsfolk and
helping them rebuild for a couple of days, I returned back through
the portal. I destroyed the mirror so no one could use it for evil.
What I dont understand is how on earth did Alexandria appear here?
There is something strange going on on our planet, what I do not
know. Obviously, the townsfolk were able to rebuild the city
finally. Perhaps we should pay my old friends a visit. We cannot
stay long though, we must continue our journey to Quel'thalas. Im
starting to believe this new "time mage" in Quel'thalas has a little
explaining to do. They are notorious for messing with the past. He
must have stopped me from destroying the mirror. We must hurry,
before he changes anything else! He might even try to erase us from
history when he realizes we are coming. He might not tell me what I
really want to know, but I will make him pay for messing with my
past!"

want to go back there, to Alexandria, but knew I never could. This
mage's abilities are quite good to override one's common sense.
There was no way for me to go back there, since I destroyed the
mirror so well."
Tyrbane looks up at the stars and stares wonderingly.
"I think there are signs of his trickery before he actually does
something. Remeber that strange fellow that came here saying he was
going to Quel'thalas to 'fight evil'? He was quite a strange one,
leaving before we could ask him what he meant. You know, it is
almost as if my common sense, or consciousness was removed from me
for a while. It spoke to us about how it was going back to
Quel'thalas, which is what I am doing, to fight evil, but then faded
away. No humans were ever allowed near that place other than me.
Then, my subconsious, the part that creates things and is with us in
sleep, took over and made me see what I wanted, or maybe, it was
what the time mage wanted me to see from my past? I am not sure, but
it is not something you want to go through. He seems to attack in
our sleep, when our conscious self cannot do anything about it."
Tyrbane then turned his gaze to the mountainside and looked over.
"What I dont get is why he allowed you to stop me. Think about
it, if he can so easily do that to me, a person trained to fight off
'mental attacks', being a mage and all, he could easily have done
the same to anyone else most likely. Why did he allow you to stop me
from falling? Perhaps... Perhaps he really doesnt want me to die.
Maybe he is trying to tell me something...to explain something I
tried to forget. This is all very strange. The bad thing is I no
longer have the desire to sleep. I am fully awake."

north. He hoped he could see their destination in the distance, but
all he could see was dark forboding clouds. The clouds came from the
west, rolling in quickly overhead. He could see lightning quite
close to them, as the clouds continued to approach. The clouds
opened up and poured their unending supply of freezing rain upon
them. The rain quickly froze to anything it touched, especially the
metal of their belts. Thunder pierced the air with a roar as a large
bolt of lightning struck the tree at which the others slept. The
tree split down the middle in two and quickly began to burn in a
fiery rage.
Tyrbane fervently tried to wake the others, to no avail. They
seemed to be in a deep sleep. The fire engulfing the tree seemed
immune to the torrential downpour of rain, continuing to burn. In
fact, the flames intensified, turning a bright blue and then white.
Tyrbane wondered how a tree could possibly withstand that amount of
heat or even produce it. Then, he saw. He saw what was causing the
flames to grow strong. The lightning had struck his sword, the
rainbow sword. Most recognized the sword for its amazing ability to
bend light into the colors of the rainbow. Anything that can bend
light waves, can also bend heat waves which are created by light.
The sword was actually causing the flames to intensify and keep it
from dying out.
Tyrbane quickly ran over to the burning tree and grabbed onto the
sword. He quickly realized that it was a dangerous decision. The
flames continued to leap from the sword in seemingly every
direction. He took the sword and plunged it into the earth below.
All was quiet for a moment. He began to sit down when the ground
beneath the group of travellers began shaking violently. Large
cracks opened in the rocks, sending flames skyward. Tyrbane looked
down at his feet and soon realized what was happening. The rocks
beneath his feet began to sink downward, towards the ground far
below. At first it was a gradual fall, but quickly became much
worse.
"I was wondering how we were going to get off the mountain, but
this is not what I had in mind!" yelled Tyrbane fiercely at the sky.
All went black around him as he tried to keep from looking down.
The next morning, the travellers all awakened to a disturbing
picture. They were no longer on a mountain, but on top of a pile of
compacted rocks. There was no mountain around them any longer. In
the distance they could see a large river with a bridge going across
it. On the other side of the bridge was a large forest. They could
hear the sound of a group of soldiers approaching from behind.
Tyrbane tried to get up but could not move. The soldiers approached
the travellers and then looked at the rocks. What was strange was
that they were all no taller than three feet, they were dwarves.
The dwarf leader looked at the weary travellers and spoke, "You,
laddes, are a bunch of witches! By what foul trickery did u fools
destroy our home? This hare mountain has been here for a long time!
You will all be arrested, y'hear? We'll burnya at the steak! Get up
y'fools! What t'matter? Can't move? Serves ya right for destroying
our home. You will die for your stupidness. But this one here, the
elf guy..." The dwarf points at Teclis and continues, "You dont have
to die. Elves are not the same as these stupid humans."
The travellers just stared bewildered at the dwarfs. They had
been through a night of hell and wake up to a bunch of shrimps with
axes, wanting to burn them as witches. It was too much strangeness
for one night.

*Rowin grabs his sword from under a pile of
rosks and unsheathes the silver blade. "Like hell you are
arresting me you dirty, little dwarves, I have been sleeping and I
did nothing, I think." He looks around and notices that there are
about 100 dwarves surrounding them, he then wisely sheathes his
sword. "guys, guys. I was just joking around. I really didn't
mean what I said." Rowin runs behind Tyrbane with his tail
between his legs so to speak. "Allright, you're the smooth
talker, you get us out of this situation, I think I might have
screwed our chances though...*

Tyrbane stands up and looks around at all the
dwarves, making a point to remember their location.
Smiling evily, Tyrbane replied, "Oh you little midgets with your
big axes think your so tough dont you? Well seeing as how you have
no clue what it feels like to drop from several miles in the air
unto the ground, why dont I show you."
A strange black aura quickly surrounded Tyrbane, causing a shadow
to fall upon all of the dwarves. His eyes began to glow blue and his
hair rustled in the air, as if there was a strong wind, which there
wasn't. Tyrbane raised his hands slowly towards the air. As he did,
the dwarves began to rise high up into the air, barely visible to
the eye. When his hands were above his head, Tyrbane yelled up to
them, "Now you shall see what a Freefall feels like! MuHaHahaha!"
Tyrbane quickly dropped his hands to his sides and the dwarves
rushed back down to the earth. The dwarves came smashing into the
ground with a resounding 'thud'. The aura around Tyrbane dissipated
and his appearance quickly returned to normal.
"They'll recover in a few moments. I did not drop them from a
high enough distance to kill them. There is no need to annihilate
the dwarves for their rudeness, it solves nothing. Hopefully they
will learn from their mistake."
With that, Tyrbane picked up his things and began walking towards
the bridge. Just then, the dwarven leader awoke from his stunned
condition and slowly took out a dagger from his boot, hoping the
humans would not notice. He then lifted his hand painfully and
prepared to throw it straight at Tyrbane's head.....

*as the dwarf is releasing the dagger into the
air, a sword cuts the sky and slashes the dwarf's risk, dropping the
dagger to the ground.*
"like hell your gonna get away with that you little scum."
*At this, 5 dwarves charge towards Rowin but he is too fast and
soon they are laying on the ground before his feet, bloodied. The
rest of the dwarves then start after the group and they all follow
Tyrbane along the rope bridge. When the group reaches the center of
the bridge, around 30 dwarves appear on the other side of the
bridge, coming towards the travelers.*
